The unique technique of painting(cost more than one million euro) in the art of marquetry created master Dmitry Shursha. The uniqueness of the picture is that it is made of wood. This complex picture consists of more than 2 and a half thousand individual pieces of wood. The complexity and uniqueness lies in the fact that when creating a master used only natural wood colours. There are no paints or any other dyes in the picture. It took the master more than a year to create this unique work of art.

The technology of marquetry is very unusual and seldom examined. Usually it is only used in the manufacture of expensive, artistic furniture. Marquetry is a branch of arts and crafts. Line-art marquetry is perhaps the most rare, elitist and barely studied art. Even the world-famous auction houses do not have experts who can assess this skill. Today, only the most famous museums in the world possess items related to this form of art and perhaps, those few collectors who were lucky enough to be able to buy such things. However it is not the just the price (works of art in the form of marquetry techniques are very expensive), but that such things are very, very rare and are therefore only available in very small quantities.
The uniqueness of this phenomenon is not even in the creation of this painting, which is truly one of the world's masterpieces, but the fact that the master has created his own style. Thus, it becomes possible to create beautiful patterns in this technique, and this style opens a new direction and opportunities in art and design, on a par with painting and graphics. Indeed, if we place this work of art in a row with all other known works of art in the art of marquetry, this picture is not going to be lost among them. We can easily recognise it amongst other works. It really shows that the master has created his own unique style, just as with Salvador Dali's painting, The Beatles’ music, Coco Chanel with clothing, Ferrari and Mercedes in car design.
And although the painting was created in France, the master feels strongly that this achievement belongs to all of Europe together, as it is based on European culture, rooted in the deep past, covering the present and looking forward to the future.
....Many thanks for sight of the picture. It reminds me of the style used by Jean-Henry Riesener, the 18th century marqueteur (Ebeniste) who had workshops in Paris and made floral scenes, like yours, on his furniture made for Queen Marie-Antoinette.
ОтветитьУдалить....I think the picture is very well cut and assembled and I have to congratulate you. Well done and thank you for allowing me to see it.
